Thank you Maggie, I’ve never wondered that about the birds, I just sort of assumed they knew, if not in a french vs spanish kind of understanding at least in a “piss of this is mine”, or “there goes carl again wooing his mistress”. I shall now be wondering in more detail! xo
"Don’t give more until I can take more. Giving is pleasurable; taking should be, too, as you are allowing others to give." What a brilliant and important reminder, thank you 💚
Gosh your drawings so perfectly illustrate the concept. The battery and connection. Wow. Almost didn’t have to read because I just got it straight away.🤪
Thank you, Gillian, and Li'l Bean, for recharging my battery 🙏
Related to your birdsong glimmer, M16 Gallery in Griffith, Canberra, has a lovely exhibition by Jorji Gardener called 'Tree Maps for Birds, Wayfinding' 🦜🎶
That we have collectively turned asking for help in something shameful and giving help as something inspiring and admirable is such a weird twist. It reminds me of the Dutch policy that coffee shops can sell weed but they can't grow it or purchase it in large quantities. Why is one part of the process good and the other bad?
Oh, yes! that does highlight such a weird double standard - in both your examples things that encourage us to spend money are uplifted, as is retaining control. Hhmmm.
Fascinating. It occurs to me that it’s a late-stage-capitalist thing because capitalist elites prefer us underlings to always purchase solutions and never discover we can band together to create them 😳
I wonder if different birds can understand each other's calls?
Like, can the magpie understand the kookaburra?
Can the galah understand the Fairy Wren?
Love your little cartoon this time - words are not needed.

But to me. Its my happy place and fills me not drains me
So. Im stuffed without it
Its hot. Im drained . Meno and alone. Thanks G
